E-SERVICES

Services for parents, schools and teachers

Nine services, each of them started and tracked online, with a published fee and a published turnaround. Most of what a parent needs costs nothing at all.

One counter, nine services

Everything the Kano State Ministry of Education does for the public passes through this page. A parent enrolling a six-year-old in Primary 1, a head teacher moving a pupil to another school, a proprietor applying to open a school, a graduate seeking a teaching licence and a candidate chasing a result all begin here, and all of them can finish without a visit to the Secretariat.

Each service below carries three published facts: who may apply, what it costs and how long the Ministry has to answer. The turnaround is counted in working days from the day a complete application is received. An incomplete application is returned with the missing item named, and the clock starts again when it comes back.

Where a service is free, it is free at every stage. Where a fee applies, that fee is published here and is paid to the Ministry through the online channel attached to your application. No sum outside the schedule on this page is lawfully due from you.

How an online application works

The same five steps whichever service you have chosen.

1

Create an account, once

Sign in at /user/login, or create an account with a phone number and an email address. One account carries every application you make, and a parent may attach more than one child to it. Registration is free.

2

Complete the form for the service

Each form asks only for what the law requires. Partly completed forms are saved as you go, so a poor connection does not cost you the work already done. Nothing is submitted until you press submit.

3

Upload the supporting documents

Photograph or scan each document named on the service page. Anything legible is accepted, up to 5 MB a file. Originals are sighted only once, at the point of collection or at the inspection visit, never in advance.

4

Track the reference

Submission returns a reference of the form APP/2026/00184. Quote it in every enquiry. Your account shows the stage the application has reached, the officer holding it and the date it must be answered by, and an SMS follows each change of stage.

5

Collect the outcome

An approval, a licence, an admission letter, a transfer certificate or an award letter is issued in your account as a document you can print, and the paper original is available from the issuing office or the local government education office named in the notification.

No officer may collect money outside this schedule

The fees on this page are the whole of what the Ministry charges for these services. No officer, inspector, head teacher, agent or middleman is authorised to collect a naira outside them, in cash or otherwise, whether it is described as a processing fee, a facilitation fee, a form fee or a follow-up fee.

Admission into a public school, a transfer certificate, a bursary nomination, a textbook requisition and an inspection visit are free at every stage. If money is asked of you for any of them, pay nothing and report it on 0800 MOE KANO, by email to info@moe.kn.gov.ng, or through the feedback form, quoting the name of the school or office and the date.

Before you start

Do I need an account to check a result?
No. The results checker is open to everyone and asks only for the examination number and the year. An account is needed for applications, because an application has to be tracked and an outcome has to be delivered to somebody.
I have no computer. Can I still apply?
Yes. Every form on this site works on a phone, and the local government education office in each of the 44 local government areas will complete an application on your behalf at no charge. Bring the documents named on the service page. The offices and their addresses are listed under Offices.
What happens if the Ministry misses the published turnaround?
Report it through the feedback form quoting your reference. An application that passes its due date is escalated automatically to the director of the responsible directorate, and the delay and its reason are recorded against the office holding it.
My documents are in Hausa or Arabic. Is that a problem?
No. Birth certificates, age declarations, sworn affidavits and school records in Hausa or Arabic are accepted. A certificate issued outside Nigeria should be accompanied by a translation, which the local government education office can arrange.
Can somebody else apply for me?
A parent or guardian applies for a child, and a head teacher applies for a school. Beyond that, no third party needs to act for you, and nobody is licensed by the Ministry to sell that help. Anyone describing himself as an approved agent for these services is not one.
How do I know a notification is genuine?
Every genuine notification names your reference and directs you to your account on www.moe.kn.gov.ng. The Ministry never sends a payment link by SMS, never asks for a password and never asks for money to release a result, an award or a licence.
